About Us

Strengthening African Economy

Helping to strengthen the economy in Africa is important to us here. Africa is Africans home. It's my ancestor's home therefore it's my home so it's the responsibility of TAIUB to do our part in creating the Africa we want to see. In our own small way of supporting small businesses to continue to grow and for them to provide for their families is where we have started our contribution.

We have plans of purchasing land to farm and create jobs. Having fresh fruit and vegetables is important and needed in some areas so we want to meet that need. There are many plans and ideas we are investigating to continue our pursuit to Africa standing up and taking her rightful place in the world.

Why TAIUB Came To Be

My name is Latoya Swift and I have 3 adult children who I'm very proud of. I was never raised knowing anything about my African roots. It was never a topic of conversation in my family therefore I never gave too much attention to it. But after going through a divorce and then George Floyd getting murdered pushed me into reevaluating my life, soul searching, and going on a spiritual journey. I had a desire to reboot my life, starting from the beginning. My beginning landed me in Africa. Not physically at first but she has been in my heart and on my mind ever since. After meeting some of my sisters and brothers on the continent (via social media) and learning about the continent drew my attention even more. The beauty and the struggle. The beauty of the culture, the people, and the land. The struggle because that's something that connects us. We're treated badly wherever we are, but we all have a place to call home. The most blessed land on the planet God gave to us and I'm thankful. So I feel an obligation to share the greatness of her and be a part of making her even greater. Creating TAIUB has been an honor and a privilege because of the pride and sense of connection I have to Africa. She has given me again pride and even boldness because that's where my lineage come from.
